Malaysia-Thai Chamber of Commerce (MTCC) with endorsement by the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok. organised the event Malaysia Fest 2019 on June 20-23, 2019 at Central World Plaza in front of Central World Shopping Centre, Bangkok, Thailand. It was one of the biggest public events which consisted of many Malaysian street food selections from every corner of Malaysia, along with exhibitions of business representatives from Malaysia which aimed to promote their products and integrate their connections in Thailand.
On 21 June 2019, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, graced the official opening ceremony after an opening remark by Dr. Hwee Khim Boo, Chairman of MTCC. The ceremony was followed by Malaysian cultural performances which included traditional dances from various parts of Malaysia to showcase the country’s traditional heritage to the world. This festival aimed to strengthen the bond between Malaysia and Thailand at the people-to-people (P2P) and business-to-business (B2B) levels.
Furthermore, the VIPs who were welcomed in Malaysia Fest 2019 also include Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dato’ Seri Mohamed AzminAli, Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato’ Jojie Samuel, Ambassador of Malaysia to Thailand, senior governmental officers from various ministries including the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry (MOA), Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Honorable Supachai Panitchpakdi, Honorary Chairman of Central Pattana Public Company Limited and Mr. Preecha Ekkunagul, President and CEO of Central Pattana Public Company Limited.
Congratulations to MTCC for organizing such a successful event. Approximately 1,500 people attended the festival in the duration of 4 days, and 60 booths were filled with exciting Malaysian street cuisines, products and business opportunities. There were also many exciting cultural performances, mini games, cooking demonstrations and video presentations about Malaysia.
